About Sarah Melito – The KooKoo Kraftista
There are so many amazing ways to have fun and embrace life. Whether it be cooking, crafts, visiting new places, trying new hobbies, traveling, spending time with our families, there is always room to appreciate the little things. I created this blog to share my random thoughts and to also show everyone ways to make easy crafts and easy food! I feel when procedures for anything are too complicated and in depth, I get overwhelmed and it gets ruined for me. I’m too “kookoo” for too many directions! I know a lot of people who don’t have the time or the patience to take time to cook or to do DiY projects, including myself. So I’m excited to be sharing ways to make it easy (or easier)! I will be sharing my Do It Yourself projects, new recipes, everyday life stories, photography, and who knows what else.
So who am I? I’m Sarah Melito, author of The KooKoo Kraftista, which follows my kookoo life along with easy cooking ideas, crafts, and more! I live about halfway in between Boston and Cape Cod, in a city in Massachusetts. I am a food lover, learner, film editor, traveler, student, DiYer, and wife. I currently work at a Credit Union and go to school, but will be graduating in December 2015 with a BA in Communication Studies!
My husband Anthony and I really enjoy trying new things and traveling, so I am excited to share all of our experiences as well! I was 19 in 2011, when I married my high school sweetheart. I moved to Kansas with him (he was in the Army at the time), and we’ve had quite the rollercoaster ride. He deployed for 13 months to Cuba in 2013, and 9 of those months were a very bumpy and unclear road for our marriage. We had planned for a divorce, but when he returned home, a feeling in our hearts knew it was worth another shot. I thank God everyday that we made that decision to work on it. It hasn’t been easy, but we know it is and will be worth it. Nobody is perfect, and marriage needs continuous work and effort. We’ve been together for almost 7 years. A lot of triumphs, tears, laughs, fights, memories, laughing, and most importantly, love.
I also love saving money (but I love shopping)! So, I’m always searching Pinterest, the Internet, anywhere really, for ways to save money on practically anything. There are so many ways to save money whether it is home décor, repurposing, coupons, using different ingredients for cooking, making homemade gifts, or finding stuff for free. My hope is that I can learn from my readers and that they will learn from me. The more comments and feedback the better! I’m excited of the start of my journey and for the blog to finally take off! Please don’t hesitate to email me here if you ever have any questions or want to chat!
