Using Vintage Caddies in Farmhouse Decor

Our Home

10 Aug

My farmhouse vintage style is just becoming more obsessive by nature. I swear I can’t pass a basket or a crate without having some sort of crazy idea of what I want to do with it. They serve many different purposes such as adding texture, storage, and style! I pick up trays, baskets, and crates at antique stores, department stores, & basically anywhere while out junkin’. I want to share with y’all how you can incorporate vintage caddies into your decor to style cute vignettes and serve a purpose. I am doing a link party with some other fellow vintage lovers, make sure to take a stop by their blogs at the bottom to see how they decorate with their caddies! What is a caddy you may ask? Well, it’s a small storage container.

As you can see here I use the dough bowl for my vintage books, it creates a cute simple vignette. I’ve seen dough bowls used in so many ways. They come in many different sizes and can be used for storage depending on how big the bowl!

Using trays for storage is definitely my go-to. I have like a gazillion trays. Some I use for just storage, some for just decoration, but most of the time I will mix functionality & style like above. I put some utensils & cutting boards on this tray but I added a plant for some color.

Tiered trays are really popular and versatile. I see all sorts of tiered trays from wooden, plastic, glass, wire, metal, the list goes on and on! These type of trays are really easy and fun to decorate. You can use them for storing your kitchen stuff or stick it into any room and decorate it,

This ocean spray crate is by far my favorite caddy. It’s large, rustic, and fits a couple of our blankets in there. Crates are an easy way to create some storage space and a farmhouse cozy vibe.

I think I have at least one caddy in every room! Can you tell I’m obsessed with storage space and functionality? I try to find ways to help my house look clean but stay cozy and decorated. Caddies are an easy and great way to incorporate farmhouse style into your home. Make sure to check out my other awesome blogging friends and see how they use their vintage caddies!

our time together as a family is a gift. and i wil our time together as a family is a gift. and i will never forget 6 years ago pleading to god to make us parents. he delivered 🙏🏼 and gave us four of the most beautiful children i could have ever imagined. 📸 @sadiecooperphotography
August 1st at 9:56am our Jaxson Jeremy was born at August 1st at 9:56am our Jaxson Jeremy was born at home, weighing in at 11 pounds!! 😍😅 ELEVENNNN pounds. Lol. We are all doing so well now, resting and settling into being a family of 6. 🫶🏻 I’m not quite ready to share our birth story just yet as we had some complications, but when the time is right I’ll record a YouTube video and share all the details. Until then, we’re soaking up all the newborn snuggles with our littlest love. Forever blessed for my growing family and the ability to birth these beautiful humans.
Yet again another child to be born after my “due Yet again another child to be born after my “due date” 🤪 Trusting in God’s timing is not always easy, but I’m trying. 💙 Dalton was my longest pregnancy at 43 weeks; this little guy better not make us wait another 2 weeks though! 😅 Layla was 40+5 (induced) and Gabby was 39 weeks (csection)

Ready for another beautiful home birth, whenever Jaxson is ready. 🫶🏻 At what gestation were your babes born?!
38 weeks with my little Jaxson Jeremy 💙 it’s 38 weeks with my little Jaxson Jeremy 💙 it’s crazy as I have more kiddos how fast the pregnancies go. I feel like I blinked and we’re almost here. Now to getting my ducks in a row! I’ve been nesting like crazy, deep cleaning my house, tending to the garden and just have to get my freezer meals prepped and I’ll be ready *i think* 😅 It’s funny because Dalton didn’t come until I was 43 weeks which is literally 5 more weeks from now…. I just might melt from the summer’s heat if I have to wait another 5 weeks 🤣 But for real, babies come when they are ready. No crazy natural inductions happening over here. Just patience. However, we’re ready whenever you are, my little man 🫶🏻
Garlic has quickly become one of my favorite thing Garlic has quickly become one of my favorite things to grow! Set it and forget it! I planted my garlic in October & it will be ready to harvest in July. Using the scapes in recipes is a great way to add garlic flavor and utilize the garlic before it’s ready to harvest. I planted both hard neck and soft neck, so I will save the hard neck varieties over the Fall/Winter and use the soft neck fresh. Have you ever planted garlic before?!
