Simple Farmhouse Fourth of July Decor

Our Home

5 Jul
I don’t usually decorate for every single holiday, but this year I wanted to incorporate some summer touches as well as 4th of July decor.  I didn’t spend a ton of time or money to get the patriotic flare. I am going to share with you guys how you can decorate for 4th of July without buying a ton of new pieces and spending a lot. There are really cute DIY 4th of July ideas on Pinterest, I just haven’t had much time to do any extra projects since I have a million on my list already. But I think I’ll leave up this patriotic decor for a few more weeks since it’s a great summery look too!

I went to the dollar store and grabbed a bunch of little flags, they came 3 for $1! Sticking these around the house will surely give your house some patriotic swag. The coca cola crates are an added bonus as well! I’m obsessed with the blue jars too, I can not stop buying them every time I see one. The best place to score blue bottles and jars are at yard sales, they are cheaper there. I bought the tassels from Marshalls, but I accidentally left them in the sun too long so they have a washed color, but I’m calling them vintage tassels lol.

This adorable galvanized drink bucket and tray are from Marshalls as well. These weren’t necessary for my patriotic decor, but I thought they were a great addition for some party serving!

Apparently I wasn’t lying when I said I stuck the little flags everywhere. Lately I’ve been obsessed with light blues, because it just speaks summer to me. So, it was easy incorporating the red, white, and blue. Obviously if you have different colored decor, it would be harder to incorporate the flag decor. If you start with a neutral base, that would help you for sure!

I’m super excited to tell y’all about this beverage cart! It was a changing table that we picked up off the side of the road and painted/distressed. It just needs some wheels and we’ll be good to go! I used Valspar spray paint for this project. It was easier to use since this was a simpler piece that will be going inside/outside. I loved decorating this little table! And I’m obsessed with my new towel from Kitch Studios. How cute is the anchor print?! & I grabbed some stuff at the Target dollar spot, along with vintage finds and some random decor to make this 4th of July beverage cart.

Last but not least, some holiday inspired pillows are always a must. I bought the pillow in the middle on sale at Marshalls and then the two blue ones were $5 each at Walmart I believe! Again, super cheap and brings a large statement to the room! If you can’t find pillows, blankets work too.

Even if you don’t have the extra money to go out and purchase new decor, you can incorporate red, white and blue colored decor together. I have faith you would be able to make it work! Like I said, I didn’t go overboard, I just did some simple touches to create a patriotic vibe. I wanted to make our house look festive, but not change out too much. What do y’all like to do for simple 4th of July or summer decor?

Happy Fourth of July loves xoxo,
Sarah

A few things that make my heart happy these days: A few things that make my heart happy these days:

Growing my very own sunflowers from seed
Trying new recipes like this dill & fennel cheddar sourdough loaf 🤤🥖🌻
Homeschooling my loves

If 20 year old me could see me now, almost 30 and realizing.. these are the days ☀️
Gardening has brought such a peace to my life that Gardening has brought such a peace to my life that I never knew I needed. Growing up, I spent hours in my grandmother’s garden, eating carrots right from the ground and being fascinated with each bite. I started 4 years ago planting in one big raised bed, and every year I learn more. It’s such a challenge to garden, but there’s something about it that still fascinates me to this day. It truly brings your family together to make an effort to connect with your food and nature.

Thankful for Ant who helps without ever complaining to make this the beautiful garden I envisioned. I love watching our children eat a whole pound of strawberries or wipe out an entire trellis of snap peas without either making it into the house first. Planting seeds and weeding with the girls, teaching them every step of the way. Gardening has taught me to slow down a little more.

Hoping to have a little farm stand to sell our veggies, eggs, kombucha, sourdough and more homemade goods sometime in the summer. ☀️🌻

one month ago I had the homebirth of my dreams ✨ one month ago I had the homebirth of my dreams ✨ after c-sections with layla & gabby, I fought hard for the birth that I wanted and deserved. 48 hours of back labor which was the worst pain I’ve ever had in my entire life, but it was worth every second to have the experience of giving birth peacefully in my bedroom. Anthony, my midwives, my sis and my doula were absolutely amazing. Dalton John was 9.10 pounds and two weeks overdue, he sure made me work for his arrival! It’s been a beautiful month with him by our side 💙 more pics to come!
