I went to the dollar store and grabbed a bunch of little flags, they came 3 for $1! Sticking these around the house will surely give your house some patriotic swag. The coca cola crates are an added bonus as well! I’m obsessed with the blue jars too, I can not stop buying them every time I see one. The best place to score blue bottles and jars are at yard sales, they are cheaper there. I bought the tassels from Marshalls, but I accidentally left them in the sun too long so they have a washed color, but I’m calling them vintage tassels lol.
Apparently I wasn’t lying when I said I stuck the little flags everywhere. Lately I’ve been obsessed with light blues, because it just speaks summer to me. So, it was easy incorporating the red, white, and blue. Obviously if you have different colored decor, it would be harder to incorporate the flag decor. If you start with a neutral base, that would help you for sure!
I’m super excited to tell y’all about this beverage cart! It was a changing table that we picked up off the side of the road and painted/distressed. It just needs some wheels and we’ll be good to go! I used Valspar spray paint for this project. It was easier to use since this was a simpler piece that will be going inside/outside. I loved decorating this little table! And I’m obsessed with my new towel from Kitch Studios. How cute is the anchor print?! & I grabbed some stuff at the Target dollar spot, along with vintage finds and some random decor to make this 4th of July beverage cart.
Last but not least, some holiday inspired pillows are always a must. I bought the pillow in the middle on sale at Marshalls and then the two blue ones were $5 each at Walmart I believe! Again, super cheap and brings a large statement to the room! If you can’t find pillows, blankets work too.
Even if you don’t have the extra money to go out and purchase new decor, you can incorporate red, white and blue colored decor together. I have faith you would be able to make it work! Like I said, I didn’t go overboard, I just did some simple touches to create a patriotic vibe. I wanted to make our house look festive, but not change out too much. What do y’all like to do for simple 4th of July or summer decor?
