Simple Fall Decor Inspiration

Our Home

18 Sep

Happy (almost) Fall guys! If you’re coming from my girl Lindsay’s tour, thank you so much for stopping over here too and it’s great to have you. Her stunning living room gave me all the Fall farmhouse feels. She is also hosting this Fall tour today, so thanks for that Lindsay! Make sure to continue the tour at the end of this post to go see a ton of Fall inspiration from my other buddies.

For the past few years, I’ve really gone all out for Fall decor. I even put pumpkins in my bedroom! Haha. I guess you could say that I love Fall. There is something about the Fall weather that just makes me so happy inside. If you don’t know, I live in Massachusetts, so the Fall here is gorgeous. Crisp air, beautiful colored leaves, apple picking, and alllll the pumpkins! But since we have Layla now, “things” don’t mean as much to me as they used to. I used to have so much decor and I recently did a purge of a lot of stuff because I want a simpler life.

This year for the season, I decided to be intentional. I wanted to create a pretty Fall atmosphere, yet remain simple at the same time. I used pumpkins and greenery to create this season’s vibe. I kept the same color palette as the previous year, using blues, greens, whites and tan. The dining room is usually my favorite place to decorate, but as you can see, I left the tablescape pretty and effortless. We’re doing a Halloween dining room this year to have some fun with Layla, so I didn’t want to go ALL out with Fall decor just to take it down in a few weeks.

We have a lot of plants in the house (7 right now) and more to come. Did you know for every 100 sq ft of your home, you should have one plant? It helps to purify the air and pull out the toxins. I’m really loving the green vibes with the blue + green pumpkins we have. It just seems fresh to me.

We recently changed around the living room and got new furniture, and I’m loooooving the Fall vibes in here. Modern chic, with a touch of pumpkin. I think our dog Sadie likes it too, don’t you think?

That’s it! Short and sweet tour for you guys today. The only other place I decorated and didn’t show is my essential oils station in the kitchen. I have a sign and some pumpkins there to add some fun to the kitchen as well. I hope you all enjoyed the simplicity of our fall decorations this year. Have you downsized your decor over the years or because of your children? Let me know I’m not alone in the comments!

Make sure to head on over to my friend Kelly’s tour next to see her gorgeous Fall porch and bedroom. You can also click below to see all of the gorgeous inspiration from these ladies. I love seeing everyone’s different style and decorations!

A few things that make my heart happy these days: A few things that make my heart happy these days:

Growing my very own sunflowers from seed
Trying new recipes like this dill & fennel cheddar sourdough loaf 🤤🥖🌻
Homeschooling my loves

If 20 year old me could see me now, almost 30 and realizing.. these are the days ☀️
Gardening has brought such a peace to my life that Gardening has brought such a peace to my life that I never knew I needed. Growing up, I spent hours in my grandmother’s garden, eating carrots right from the ground and being fascinated with each bite. I started 4 years ago planting in one big raised bed, and every year I learn more. It’s such a challenge to garden, but there’s something about it that still fascinates me to this day. It truly brings your family together to make an effort to connect with your food and nature.

Thankful for Ant who helps without ever complaining to make this the beautiful garden I envisioned. I love watching our children eat a whole pound of strawberries or wipe out an entire trellis of snap peas without either making it into the house first. Planting seeds and weeding with the girls, teaching them every step of the way. Gardening has taught me to slow down a little more.

Hoping to have a little farm stand to sell our veggies, eggs, kombucha, sourdough and more homemade goods sometime in the summer. ☀️🌻

one month ago I had the homebirth of my dreams ✨ one month ago I had the homebirth of my dreams ✨ after c-sections with layla & gabby, I fought hard for the birth that I wanted and deserved. 48 hours of back labor which was the worst pain I’ve ever had in my entire life, but it was worth every second to have the experience of giving birth peacefully in my bedroom. Anthony, my midwives, my sis and my doula were absolutely amazing. Dalton John was 9.10 pounds and two weeks overdue, he sure made me work for his arrival! It’s been a beautiful month with him by our side 💙 more pics to come!
