This post is sponsored by Babylist. Thanks for supporting brands that I really love and that make this little blog of mine possible!
As a first time mom, I’ve been researching products since the day I found out I was pregnant. After years of infertility, you literally want to buy ALL the baby clothes and gadgets! I have recently started to minimize our belongings and decided that I had to do some more research to decide what we really needed for our first little babe. I know that we will save most of the things for our future babies, so I wanted to take the time to register for the best products. There were so many places to register, but not all of the stores offer every item we were looking for. When I stumbled upon Babylist, I couldn’t believe that you can add items from any store, including Etsy and local boutiques! Not only that, but you can add non-traditional requests like home cooked meals, housecleaning favors, even cash for a college fund.
Babylist makes it really easy to add to your registry from any website using their browser extension button, or you can even download their app on iOS/Android platform to add items from your phone. Another benefit is, if you’ve already created a registry elsewhere, you can easily transfer the whole registry to Babylist. Starting a registry can be really overwhelming for a first time mom, but they even offer a registry checklist tool and registry consultants to help you and guide you through the process!
I created a sample registry to help inspire you on their website here! But I also wanted to still list some of the items below and tell you why I picked them. Many of you actually recommended these products to me in the beginning of my pregnancy!
Nursery
Humidifier
A must have to keep add moisture into the air during those cold months. Plus, this one is so adorable!
Sound Machine
This sound machine had great reviews, and provides different sounds to help baby sleep peacefully. You can easily adjust the tones and volume.
Lollipop Baby Camera
I received this camera already and so far it’s awesome! We put it up and tested it out and so far so good. You download an app onto your phone so there is no monitor, but you can see and hear it from the screen on your phone.
Flora Crib
This crib is absolutely gorgeous and fits right in with a farmhouse style. Not only that, it converts into a toddler bed as well. I’m excited to use it as it grows with my little girl.
Ruby Recliner & Glider
I often go into our nursery and sit in this chair already, so I can truly say it’s so comfortable! It reclines and moves so swiftly. I know I’ll be spending a lot of time in this chair when Layla gets here too.
Newton Breathable Mattress
I read many reviews before choosing a mattress, and this one had the best reviews by far. It’s breathable, meaning you can stick your face right to it and breathe through. Not only that, it’s actually fluffy and comfortable too. We received this along with the crib and recliner already, so I can give them a real review so far.
Play
Piano Kick & Play Gym
This has been recommended to me by so many moms. The babies love to play with the toys hanging, and kick their feet on the piano part at the end.
Activity Center
It isn’t the same thing as a bouncer or walker, but allows the baby to stand and explore while enhancing their motor skill development. You can also use it from 4 months to toddler, because it transforms to an activity table.
Sit Me Up Seat
This looks so convenient to have baby sitting up and interacting. Instead of propping up with pillows, you can sit your baby right in this seat to keep them sitting upright.
Fold Away Jumper
What sold me on this was, fold away, yes please! We live in a smaller home, so I know it will be taken over by baby gadgets and toys. Knowing we can fold this and put it away when our baby isn’t using it, makes it really desirable.
Boppy Pillow/Positioner
Great for nursing, and also propping the baby up. There are so many cute covers you can buy too if you want to switch out the print or if it gets stained.
Travel
Graco Extend2Fit Convertible Car Seat
I decided to go with Graco, because it’s been around for years and is a trusted brand. Many family members and friends recommended this brand to me. I love how this car seat is convertible, but for the beginning we will just put it in my husband’s car.
Graco SnugRide Infant Car Seat
This car seat had awesome reviews, and will easily click in the stroller we registered for.
Graco Modes Stroller
Finding the perfect stroller is hard! I love that this one can be used from infant to toddler, and with or without a carseat for the infant stage. It also has a one-hand fold, making it easy to put away.
Shopping Cart Cover
I know some people say these are a waste of money, but I really hate germs and think shopping carts are disgusting. I know this will be used all the time with us, so I knew I wanted to register for one.
Anchored East Diaper Bag
I love this diaper bag! I’ve already received it, so I know it will be perfect because it’s a backpack, but both my husband and I can wear it since it’s a dark gray. It has tons of room and even comes with a changing pad.
Boba Wrap
I’m really looking forward to baby-wearing since I’ll be working from home. I’ve heard great things about Boba and love all the different patterns and colors they offer for their wraps.
Boba Carrier
Since I heard great things about Boba in general, I knew I wanted to register for their carrier too. My husband can easily wear this carrier and it’s nice because you can use it front wearing up to 25 pounds and on your back from 25-45 pounds!
Car Seat Cover
I know this will be great to use during the cold New England winter months. It keeps the baby nice and warm in their car seat.
Sleep
Rock ‘n Play
Some mom friends told me if you had to register for ONE thing, this would be your MUST HAVE. Babies can sleep in it, nap in it, or just place them in there if you have to get something done. I had more than a handful of people tell me they swear by the Rock ‘n Play.
Pack ‘n Play
Pack ‘n Plays have been around foreverrrrrrr. So easy to just stick the little babe in to sleep, or if you need to get something done. They are also great to bring to someone’s else’s house to put the baby in.
Halo Bassinet
We knew that we wanted a bassinet to have our baby girl in our bedroom for the first few months, so we registered for a bassinet. Trying to decide between the few that are out there was really hard, but I heard from many moms that this one was really convenient. The sides easily bend down so you can grab the baby out of it when you’re in bed, and it swivels for when you want to get out of bed.
Love To Dream Swaddle Up
This swaddle allows babies to sleep in a natural arms up position, with great range of arm movement while still performing the core job of swaddling to make them feel snug and secure. I have heard of many moms having great success using this swaddle and I’m so excited to try it out!
Bath/Hygiene
Tubby Todd Products
Tubby Todd products are made with 100% natural ingredients. I feel way more comfortable putting any of their products on our babe. Plus, they smell amazing and adults can even use them!
Primo Eurobath
This tub is super large and can be used until babes are about 2 years old! It’s simple and gets the job done. Plus, it’s a great price!
Hooded Towels & Wash Cloths
I felt these in the store and they were so soft, and the colors and patterns are adorable.
Fridababy Kit
I get it, it’s totally weird to suck the snots out of your babies nose or stick a tube in your babies butt. However, these products have awesome reviews and it was a #1 recommended product when I asked you guys a few months ago.
Feeding
Motherlove Nipple Cream
Many have suggested this for dry and cracked nipples from breastfeeding.
Bamboobies Washable Nursing Pads
With dry and cracked nipples, comes leaky nipples 😉 so nursing pads to put into your bra are a must if you are breastfeeding.
Comotomo Bottles
Since we haven’t had a chance to try out different bottles, I added a few different brands to my registry. I have heard these bottles are great because they mimic the breast and help with gas.
Boon Lawn Drying Rack
Great for drying bottles, pacifiers, and breast pump accessories.
Graco Contempo High Chair
We had a hard time trying to pick out which highchair to get! We’ve heard great things about the IKEA one and it’s only 20 bucks, but I love the pad on this one and it also folds up so we can put it away easily.
Make sure to head over to the registry and see what other items I added for first time moms.
