Now that the nicer weather has finally arrived here in Mass, we have been spending so much time outside with the pups, and soon our baby girl! We had somewhat of a patio set up last year, but we had a bad storm that ruined a lot of our furniture. We decided to start fresh and decorate with some of what we had, as well as new pieces from the Coastal Living line at Christmas Tree Shops AndThat! The new Coastal Living collection features a variety of patio furniture, outdoor cushions and rugs; home textiles; decor and storage pieces; and entertaining essentials. There are many great pieces to choose from, but I went with a blue and white theme. I visited my local store to check out all of the options and honestly, I was really impressed with the selection. It made me want to stroll down to Cape Cod and rent a beach house!
I knew what type of theme I was going for, because our house is light blue and I figured it would be a great way to tie in the outside decor too. I didn’t want too many decorations or to take up too much space, as I know our back yard will soon be taken over by kiddie pools and toys. Anyway, let me show you what the patio space looked like before!
On the left side of this area, we have our grill and table with chairs where we can eat outside. We really wanted a place where we could just hang out and relax, but not be right in the sun. The brick patio isn’t my favorite, but we make due with what we’ve got here at The Belmont Ranch. So, let’s take a look at the after pictures, shall we?!
It’s not the fanciest back yard in all the land, but it’s realistic. We live here, it’s not a magazine-worthy patio, and I’m totally cool with that! I absolutely love how it came out and already enjoy spending much of our time out here. We were thrilled to grab this Outdoor Gazebo, which is water resistant and has a netting you can zip up on all sides to keep the bugs out. The attached bar shelf is convenient to put some decorations on, but we can easily take them off for when we want to entertain and put food or drinks there. The gazebo is awesome for when we want to bring Layla outside once she’s born and sit in the shade. The blue and white palm leaf pillows were by far my favorite find though. They add just the right touch of blue tones to bring everything together.
The all-weather rug we chose is awesome because it’s easy to clean, but it’s also suitable for indoor and outdoor use. We have an enclosed porch we will probably put this into during the Winter so it doesn’t get ruined. I love how it looks like an indoor rug, but is able to sustain getting wet and dirty. Nothing a little hose spraying can’t fix!
Just a few decorations made their way back here, along with some succulents and ferns. Plants are a great way to decorate any space. I always remember to choose the ones that don’t require much water, as I practically kill all the plants we get. Whoops! I also scored this white wicker table at the Brimfield Antique Fair last week and it fits in just perfectly. Overall, I am in love with this space we created to relax and unwind with our growing family. It’s our own little coastal oasis. Beyond the patio, we still have a huge yard where the pups and kiddos can run around and play. Is there anything better than that? Well, maybe having s’mores by the campfire, which we will be doing very soon! Make sure to head over to The Christmas Tree Shops andThat!’s website or your local store to check out the Coastal Living Collection. I promise you’ll want to head straight to the beach right after!
Till next time! XO,
Super cute!! It looks like a relaxing oasis!!
