35 Weeks Bump Update

Pregnancy

30 Apr

I’ve been a super slacker guys, please don’t kill me! These last few weeks I have started to become SO tired all over again, it feels like I’m repeating the first trimester without all of the morning sickness. It’s been pretty rough to get anything done. At first, I was beating myself up for not accomplishing as much work as I wanted to, but I soon realized that I won’t be able to rest like this for much longer. I’m trying to enjoy each and every day, take it slow, nap and sleep when I can, and just be in the moment. We got our maternity pics done a few weeks ago too. I don’t have them all back, but I’ll share a sneak peek!

Size of baby: Layla is the size of a bunch of carrots and about 5.5 pounds! She’s around 18-19 inches long at this point too. I can’t believe she’s almost the size she will be at her birth.

Weight gain: I started off well, but by now I’ve gained about 20 pounds. I was feeling a bit bummed about that, but my husband reminded me I am growing a human being! Luckily it’s all just really in my belly.

Symptoms: The heartburn is still killing me like a MF, but thankfully taking Zantac helps a lot. I hate having to rely on medicine like that, but it gets so bad and makes me absolutely miserable, so medication it is. I wonder if Layla will be a little chewbacca with tons of hair on her head. I’m also getting pretty uncomfortable and developing sciatica. It hurts my lower back and thighs, but I started to go to a chiropractor this week and hopefully that helps. Also, warm-up contractions have been happening!

Cravings: I know I’m not supposed to have this too often, but I have been LOVING tuna subs lately! I have to eat one a week to curb this odd craving of mine.

Nursery Update: It’s been done for awhile, but like I said I’ve been lazy lately, so I have yet to do a full reveal. I wanted to fine tune everything and get it all nice and clean, so hopefully within the next week or two the full reveal blog post will be up!

Pregnancy item I am loving this week: I bought this belly band which lifts up my belly and helps a lot with the pressure.

1 Moment I loved this past week: Just chatting with my husband about how soon it won’t be just the two of us anymore! We are soaking up this time together, since the last 9.5 years it’s just been him and I. It feels weird knowing we will have to share one another with our little babe soon!

1 Thing I did for myself this week: I bought some new clothes! I needed some nursing friendly shirts and some new sweatpants. I rarely ever buy clothes for myself anymore. Even though I bought them for me to nurse Layla in, it still felt nice to buy some new clothes! Also, after going back and forth, I finally decided to give in and buy a gorgeous Baby Tula woven carrier from their special release yesterday. I am so excited to get it and wear my baby girl in it! I’m going to be sharing all about my baby wearing journey very soon of course.
