31 Weeks Bump Update

Pregnancy

27 Mar

I feel as though I sound like a broken record when I say this, but time is literally flying by. Only NINE more weeks to go! Are you kidding me?! I don’t even know where the time has gone. I used to laugh at my parents when they said time flies as you get older, but man they were right. It’s hard to believe we’ll have our baby girl with us here in 9 weeks, or even sooner! We wouldn’t mind seeing her debut a week earlier.

What fruit are you? Layla Jean is now the size of a head of lettuce. She weighs about 3.5 pounds, and is 17.5 inches.

Weight gain: I’m lucky where I haven’t gained much weight at all. I think I’m still around 13 pounds gained. I know I was a bit overweight pre-pregnancy due to the stress and fertility meds though.

Symptoms: Thankfully my morning (0r all day) sickness has gone away completely and I fully have my appetite back. I do get Braxton-hicks contractions, which have been quite a weird feeling, but I find it so interesting that my body is gearing up for labor each and every day. I recently received a Bloomlife Contraction Monitor to try out for my final trimester and it’s been AMAZING to monitor my contractions, and even see there are ones that I haven’t felt. The sensor that you attach to your belly connects to an app on your phone and it will time your contractions. I’ll explain more about it below.

Nursery Update: It’s finally all finished! I will be doing a full reveal here on the blog soon, and I’m so excited to share every nook and cranny of it with you guys. It’s my favorite room in the whole house, or the whole world for that matter!

Something I’m doing for myself this week: I went and got a pedicure yesterday, and tomorrow I’m getting a pregnancy massage and I cannot wait! Also, this weekend is our baby shower and I feel like I’m gearing up for Christmas morning. We are SO excited to celebrate Layla with our family and friends.

Cravings: I’ve always been an ice cream addict, but as the warmer weather arrives, I’m like give me ALL the ice cream, baby!

Dreams: Oh the pregnancy dreams. They are WACKY. I dream about people I haven’t seen or thought about in years. I also have dreams about my baby girl and it feels like she’s actually here. My dreams have literally been the weirdest.

Missing anything? Sangriaaaaa!! I’m not much of a drinker, but I love wine and sangria. I can’t wait to have a glass in 2 months!!

Pregnancy item I’m loving this week: Let me talk about the Bloomlife Monitor again. This thing is the bees-knees. In the third trimester, you’re told to track your contractions and this monitor makes that super easy and effortless. While it can’t tell the difference between Braxton Hicks and regular contractions, it’s so helpful to monitor them and see what your body is doing to prepare. Bloomlife has undergone extensive clinical validation against hospital based systems and has been proven to be accurate, reliable, and safe. I love sharing the information with my husband after I’ve worn it for a few hours at night while I’m relaxing. You do rent the monitor, so you can get it and return it whenever you’re done with it. To get $20 off, use the code SM10!

one month ago I had the homebirth of my dreams ✨ one month ago I had the homebirth of my dreams ✨ after c-sections with layla & gabby, I fought hard for the birth that I wanted and deserved. 48 hours of back labor which was the worst pain I’ve ever had in my entire life, but it was worth every second to have the experience of giving birth peacefully in my bedroom. Anthony, my midwives, my sis and my doula were absolutely amazing. Dalton John was 9.10 pounds and two weeks overdue, he sure made me work for his arrival! It’s been a beautiful month with him by our side 💙 more pics to come!
