20/21 Week Bump Update

Pregnancy

18 Jan

How in the world am I already past halfway into this pregnancy?! I swear we just found out I was pregnant like, a few weeks ago! Last week, I was all over the place organizing and some days I was really not feeling well. So, preggo over here forgot to do an update last week. Hence why I’m putting 20 weeks and 21 weeks together. What fruit are you? A banana and a carrot. Layla is about 10.5 inches long and weighs almost 3/4 if a pound!

Due Date: May 30th. I thought I was going to have to get a scheduled C-section, but we met with the high-risk pregnancy doctor in Boston 2 weeks ago and she confirmed I will be delivering naturally! I didn’t know whether to be excited or scared. I think I’m definitely a little bit of both.

How far along? 21 weeks and 1 day!

Total weight gain: I’ve only gained about 10 pounds! I am super thankful for that. My goal is to really not gain more than 20 pounds total.

Stretch Marks: Ohhhh yeah boy. I noticed a few more making their debut this morning. Theres a few on the lower end of my belly.

Maternity Clothes: I have gotten a few maternity shirts that are also nursing friendly. But so far I’ve been living in my leggings and sweatpants and I’m doing just fine!

Sleep: It’s actually been a bit better! I don’t have to go to the bathroom so much at night right now, but some nights I’m up at 2am just because.

Cravings: Still loving on apples. The other day I was literally craving chicken wings SO bad that I begged my husband to go out to this awesome wing place a few towns over. Layla and I were very happy with that choice. We’ve been eating out like once a week because of two reasons. My laziness to cook and my cravings!

Best moment this week: Our anatomy scan! See above photo. Everything is all well with our girl. She does have a little fluid in her kidney but the doctor said that’s quite common and it just has to be watched. We loved watching her on the screen. We also learned I will not have to deliver in Boston, which was a major relief!

Symptoms: Well, I go a few days without getting sick and then one day I threw up 15 times (no exaggeration) and thought I was literally going to die. I couldn’t keep anything in my system! But the next day I was fine, just tired. The other day I also noticed my breast was leaking, I wasn’t expecting that so early. It caused my husband and I to start cracking up. Oh the joys of pregnancy. I also keep getting heartburn everyday, but thankfully I’m starting to feel a lot better and get some energy to do all the things!

Movement: My little girl is a crazy person in there! I feel her move a lot more now, the kicks get stronger and stronger everyday.

Nursery Update: I got all the shelves decorated and bought some decor for the walls. We started to put the crib together, but there was a piece missing. We’re just waiting on that to come in to finish putting it together. In the meantime, we started to organize the closet (it was filled with junk) and start to put her clothes away. My girlfriend gave me two boxes of clothes, so we are super thankful and ready to organize all her things.

Pregnancy items I’m loving this week: Burt’s Bees Mama Bee Belly Oil. Seriously this stuff is amazing! It has vitamin E and lemon oils, so it’s great for your skin and it smells heavenly. Also the dress I’m wearing in the above photos, it’s non-maternity and there are so many styles. It’s comfortable and super affordable! Check it out here. It’s great for the bump and also for nursing!
